1.5 Requirements And Conformance
Enabling Interoperable Information Exchange Using Direct
The MAP Framework establishes a common architectural foundation for interoperable information exchange using Direct. It comprises three complementary subframeworks: the MAP Use Case Framework, the MAP Transaction Framework, and the MAP Endpoint Capability Statement Framework. Together, they support the definition of business information exchange needs, the specification of reusable transaction behavior, and the communication of endpoint capabilities needed for interoperable implementation.
This chapter describes the purpose, objectives, feasibility and scope, foundational principles, and requirements and conformance expectations of the MAP Framework as a whole. A Use Case IG created using the MAP Framework follows the same chapter outline: Purpose, Objectives, Feasibility and Scope, Foundational Principles, and Requirements and Conformance, but the focus of the chapter is a specific use case. Chapter 2 then introduces the use case actors and transactions. Together, Chapters 1 and 2 together establish the MAP Use Case Framework; Chapter 3 establishes the MAP Transaction Framework; and Chapter 4 establishes the MAP Endpoint Capability Statement Framework.
