Chapter 2 — Actors and Transactions
Chapter 2 of the MAP Framework establishes the common architecture for identifying responsible parties and business roles, transaction participants and participation roles, technical actors and system formations, and the information flows and transactions that support business workflows.
A derivative Use Case Implementation Guide (UC IG) follows the corresponding Chapter 2 structure but applies these concepts to a particular use case. Its Chapter 2 identifies participating parties and actors, analyzes the information exchanges needed to satisfy its Information Exchange Objectives, and lists the resulting transactions for its specific use case. The Framework defines the architectural method and current reusable transaction inventory; a UC IG documents its use case-specific information exchange analysis and transaction requirements to meet the use case.
Sections 2.1–2.3 establish the distinctions needed for analysis. Section 2.4 begins with the Information Exchange Objectives already defined in Chapter 1 and analyzes the required information flows. Section 2.5 identifies the resulting transaction inventory and reusable RTC definitions. Section 2.6 establishes diagram notation and examples. Common transaction requirements reside in Framework Chapter 3; individual GenTXDef chapters follow it. Derivative UC IGs use a concise Chapter 3.1 referencing the Framework and then provide individual UCTXDef chapters.
