T.5 Acronyms and Abbreviations

This register provides the authoritative expansions of abbreviations used in the MAP Framework. It complements, rather than replaces, first-use expansion in each independently readable chapter, transaction definition, table, or diagram. Editors should update this register whenever a new acronym is introduced, changed, or retired.

T.5.1 Acronym Usage and Maintenance Rules

Spell out a term and introduce its abbreviation in parentheses on first use within each chapter and independently distributed transaction definition. Subsequent references in that unit may use the abbreviation. Technical identifiers and field names such as SERV_INFO and Task.code should be documented as identifiers rather than incorrectly expanded as acronyms. During release quality assurance, compare the register with narrative occurrences and flag undefined, unused, or inconsistently expanded abbreviations.
